What a country! We again found plenty of things to chuckle about in Istanbul. They do understand that their country is a little (?) chaotic. The fact that somebody had to advertise that there was no haggling or arbitrary pricing was funny. We found a store window with knife holders that hopefully won't give the spouse ideas. Creative spelling is alive and well in Istanbul. Our collection of 'Happy' stores continues and we got a good laugh out of some of the window displays (nice pattern though). How would food taste in a Cistern Cafe? Palm trees in snow was a nice touch. The mania for the New Year's Day lottery is crazy here and even children are pulled into the madness. The top prize is 45 million lira but some sellers upped the total just a bit. We were glad to see that there is a tea for everything, and we mean everything. Not your typical KFC restaurant. Try epples and greyfruit in your next smoothie. And lastly we got a good laugh at all the 'jailbirds' in the Abu Dhabi airport.
