Seville has many sights but they all are secondary to the beauty of the Royal Alcazar. It began as a Moorish fort about a thousand years ago but has experienced lots of remodeling over the years. The central Moorish design has remained as even Christian rulers hired Muslim architects to help renovate the palace and its gardens. If you like shooting pictures of arches or through arches like I do, this place is heaven. And if you aren't into photography, the beauty of the designs forces you to slow down and take it all in. When you have completed the palace, the gardens await you with their countless fountains and trimmed hedges. It's amazing how quickly a few hours can slip by. The Royal Alcazar can rightfully claim to be the real golden arches.
